TMT started in 2002 when Douglas Davey (a civil engineer specializing in traffic technology) joined with Johan du Toit (a Traffic Chief) and Neil Louwrens (a State Advocate) to start the business. In addition to offering the most advanced technologies to assist in improving transport management efficiency and traffic safety effectiveness, Traffic Management Technologies also focuses on promoting access to economic opportunities for previously disadvantaged population groups.
Traffic Management Technologies' current staff profile comprises fifty percent female members, a majority middle management team component comprising women, and seventy five percent of management and staff from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.

Traffic Management Technologies offers services and delivers to the South African market with an overall local content of about eighty percent, making us a truly South African enterprise. We currently have service partnerships with over 20 municipalities, including the City of Johannesburg, as well as with the Western Cape province's Dept. of Roads and Transport.
